Three Amazing Years of Indi Moda

Our brand, Indi Moda was launched by Manasi Kabadi in January 2016 through a series of small pop up shops in Mumbai offering unique and high-quality Indian ethnic wear at affordable prices.

For Manasi, who was running the company single-handedly back then along with pursuing CA, the first six months were pretty hectic. But we received such an amazing response from the customers that we ended up opening up a store in Dadar in July 2016. Our customer didn’t just love our practical and beautiful designs, but they also loved the uniqueness and the quality of the garments. 

Our clothes have always been known for their touch of Indianness. Every garment that we design and develop uses Indian fabrics, embroideries, and cuts. 

 

In the last three years, we went from a single woman army to a team of six brilliant people including three fashion designers, one store manager, one accountant, and one operations manager, and Manasi, the founder.

 
 

About Indi Moda

At Indi Moda, our aim has always been to help women look unique and elegant through daily wear ethnic clothing. We believe that just because you want to look good in a professional setting doesn’t mean you should compromise on comfort.

We offer a range of products including kurtas, dresses, dupattas, stoles, pants, palazzos, and stole that can help you stand out in the crowd. We want to cater to the working women in India who work immensely hard every day by offering them classy, confident, and chic clothing.

 

Our incredible journey

After launching our store in Dadar in 2016, we spent the first two years trying our best to make the brand profitable. The customer response was much better than we had ever expected. Our customers instantly loved our clothes that were inspired by traditional Indian fabrics and embroidery.

From August 2018, we shifted our focus on expansion. We were able to do a pop up in The Hague, Netherlands in September 2018 and we also got into a long term collaboration with StyleNook and GetBojo, both of which offer subscription boxes in India.

 

We were also nominated for the Fashion E-commerce award by the Fashion Biz 2.0 event held at Madrid Fashion Week. To expand our presence online, we launched our company website in February 2019, and we also started listing our products on Amazon India, Flipkart India, and Sweet Couch.

When we started, we were a purely trading company, but now Indi Moda has transformed into a  design house wherein we create and manufacture our own designs.

Now, we are more prepared than ever to take Indi Moda to the international market. We are actively looking for buyers and collaborations in the US. We are also planning of organising pop-ups in Lititz, Harrisburg and New York in July. Now, we are looking to venture into exports so that we can cater to the working women who don’t necessarily live in India.

We celebrated our three-year milestone with our work family who made Indi Moda what it is today through their collective effort. It included everyone who made the brand what it is today.  

 

Indi Moda would also like to thank all of its customers for their constant support and love, which kept us going, day after day.
